What Data We Collect

CarX collects the following data when you use the app:

• Account information: Email address and password (stored securely via Supabase authentication)
• Vehicle diagnostic data: OBD-II sensor readings including RPM, speed, coolant temperature, battery voltage, engine load, and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
• Chat messages: Questions you ask the AI assistant about your vehicle
• Voice data: If you use voice input, your speech is processed on-device for speech-to-text conversion. Audio is not stored or transmitted.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide real-time vehicle diagnostic monitoring
• To generate AI-powered health analysis and recommendations
• To create signed diagnostic reports verified by ProofX
• To detect trends and predict potential issues

Data Storage & Security

• Authentication tokens are stored in iOS Keychain (encrypted)
• Vehicle data is stored on secure servers
• Diagnostic reports are cryptographically signed (SHA-256) for tamper protection
• We do not sell your data to third parties

Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Authentication and user management
• OpenRouter: AI language model for diagnostic analysis (anonymised queries)
• ProofX: Cryptographic signing of diagnostic reports

OBD-II Disclaimer

CarX provides OBD-II electronic diagnostics only. This covers engine sensors, battery, fault codes, and electronic control systems. It does not assess brakes, tyres, suspension, bodywork, or other mechanical components. Always consult a qualified mechanic for a full vehicle inspection.

Your Rights

• You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab
• You can request a copy of your data by emailing contact@proofx.co.uk
• You can opt out of AI analysis and use the app for raw sensor data only
